Mesothelioma Is Associated With Exposure To Asbestos

Mesothelioma is a rare and incurable cancer that affects the lungs and surrounding tissue, the pleura. Other areas of the body that may be affected include the abdomen and the pericardium (a sac covering the heart).

There is only one known cause of mesothelioma, exposure to asbestos.

Over the years, people who have worked in different industries may be unknowingly exposed to deadly asbestos fibers on the job.

The type of industries known that asbestos include shipyards, cement, textiles, workshop or car brakes, oil refineries, power plants and construction sites.

People can be exposed to asbestos from demolition, if precautions are not taken to ensure that any asbestos is cleaned before demolition takes place. There are strict rules at the federal and state asbestos removal.

Danger occurs when asbestos fibers into the air and then the real you breathe in the fibers when they reach the lung tissue is frozen and can not be discharged.

When you look at the asbestos fibers are the microscope, you see the crystalline peaks and the makeup of the fibers. The medical community is generally agreed that the amount of exposure required to cause mesothelioma is always at least May 1200 fiber-year/mL.

The occurrence of mesothelioma can take up to 15-20 years to manifest, for this reason that courts throughout the United States has what is called a "Fast Track" of these cases that people who suffer from mesothelioma are not very long to live.

As a personal note on this, my grandfather died back in late 1970, his death was attributed to what doctors call "black-lung".

He worked all his life in Texas, Galveston port of embarkation of the city. It is now understood that he had died of mesothelioma, however, doctors do not know what the cause of his illness was at that time.

In researching this article, it was clear that the legal community is aware of this rare disease, and has actively sought the victims of this terrible lung disease, as evidenced by the large number of sites that talk about this kind of litigation mesothelioma.
